Frequently Asked Questions
1. What types of therapy do you offer? Strong Side Counseling (SSC) offers a range of therapeutic approaches including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based therapy. SSC tailors specific methods to best suit your individual needs and goals.
2. Do you accept insurance? Yes, I accept insurance. This is intended to make mental health care more accessible and affordable for you. If you're interested in using your insurance, please feel free to reach out to me directly. I can provide more information about the insurance plans I currently accept, and I am happy to assist with any questions you may have about coverage or billing. If you prefer to pay privately, I ask to keep a credit card on file for billing. I am happy to provide superbills for you to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement.
3. How much does therapy cost? The cost of therapy varies depending on whether you use insurance or private pay. For specific pricing information, please contact the office. I offer a sliding scale for those who need financial assistance.
4. How do I schedule an appointment? You can schedule an appointment by calling the office directly at 303-578-9363, emailing Arianne@StrongSideCounseling.com or by sending a message through the contact form. We’ll work together to find a time that fits your schedule.
5. What should I expect during my first session? An intake session is the first appointment a therapist has with a new client to gather information and establish a working relationship. This session may focus on getting to know you and understanding your concerns, identifying symptoms you may be experiencing, exploring relevant client history, and setting goals. Feel free to ask any questions you may have about the process.
6. How long are therapy sessions? Typically, therapy sessions are based on a therapeutic hour, which is usually 45 to 55 minutes. However, the length can vary depending on your needs and the type of therapy being used.
7. What is your cancellation policy? I ask for at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Cancellations with less notice may incur a fee. Please refer to the full cancellation policy in my disclosure form for more details.
8. Are sessions confidential? Yes, your privacy is my top priority. All sessions are confidential and adhere to strict ethical guidelines to protect your personal information. There are a few legal exceptions, which we will explain to you during our initial meeting.
9. How do I know if therapy is right for me? Therapy can be beneficial for many individuals seeking to improve their mental health and well-being. If you’re unsure, I offer a complementary initial 10-15 minute consultation to discuss your concerns and determine if therapy is the right fit for you.
